To be approved for an Authorized IRS e-file Provider application with the IRS, each firm must Pass a Suitability Check from the IRS.

This Suitability Check includes a credit check; a tax compliance check; a criminal background check; and other IRS e-file requirements.

Only firms or tax preparers that pass the Suitability Check from IRS will get approved for becoming an Authorized IRS e-file Provider.
